Kronos is published annually in November. It is an accredited South African journal that aims to promote and publicise high quality historical research.
While its focus is on the history of the Cape - the historic Cape Colony and those regions later known as the Western, Eastern and Northern Cape - it encourages comparative research and the work of scholars in allied disciplines.
The journal seeks to break new ground in its dynamic integration of visuals and text. Kronos is self-funded and based in the Centre for Humanities Research at the University of the Western Cape.
